Outdoor dining under shady trees

Any romantic place for outdoor dining....patio with shady trees? Cuisine could be anything, but no loud, heavy metal music. REAL important first date place.

Outdoor dining under shady trees

both Shady Grove and Z Tajas come to mind - although the food at Shady Grove is not that great

Romeo%26#39;s has nice outdoor seating - but, again, food is not spectacular - just decent Italian

all of the restaurants on Barton Springs road west of Lamar have shaded seating outside

Unfortunately, Nonnative nailed it: Shady Grove and Z Tejas.

Austin is many things, but a romantic outdoor dining mecca it ain%26#39;t. If you are willing to forgo the trees, then the upstairs patio at Fino and the view from Oasis%26#39;s many decks should also be considered. Of the four mentioned, Fino has the best food by far -- and is the worst for your wallet (but sounds like cost doesn%26#39;t matter).

If you%26#39;re willing to leave town, try the restaurant at Mandola%26#39;s winery. Everything you ask for -- trees, romantic and no heavy metal music.

Just as I hit submit, a good possibility hit my brain:

Tree House, steps off of South Congress:

Moonshine has a lovely little patio..and the food is sooooo good!

I second the recommendation for the restaurant at Mandola Estates Winery. It%26#39;s beautiful out there, the food is good, and very romantic at night.

If you don%26#39;t mind a 20-25 minute drive, I%26#39;d definitely recommend Palmer%26#39;s in San Marcos. You can see a lot of photos at the link below.

This place has fantastic romantic atmosphere (a quiet, garden setting), and very good food at reasonable prices. The indoor seating can be better than the outdoor for romance...

THANK YOU!! to all for taking the time to assist me. I checked out the websites for all the restaurants mentioned and every restaurant seemed to be a perfect fit.....maybe each one for a lunch, dinner, or happy hour. If HE comes close to being a fit with me, you will have helped a single, talltantexan gal.

I have just one more question on Z-Tejas. There are 3 locations in Austin....do all 3 have nice outdoor patios...or which one(s)?

Again, mooey gotchas to you great Austin folks.
