where to stay, what to do - dallas/plano

Hello, I will be flying in to Love Field (June 30) and looking for an area to stay where there is something to see, great place to eat, fun things to do. As Dallas is fairly large and many neighborhoods - I was wondering if someone could suggest something. I will be arriving around noon, going to an outdoor concert at Oak Point Park Amphitheatre (Plano) and leaving the following day around lunchtime. Looking for something fun, hip and interesting between the downtime. ANY suggestions would be helpful. THANKS!

Well, if nothing else, your post made me look to see what would bring someone to Plano for a mid week concert!

That%26#39;s a bit of a long trek between Love Field and Plano. Are you staying in Dallas or Plano? When you say ';fun, hip, intersting'; are you thinking of something after the concert or between your landing and the concert start? Such as dinner or another entertainment venue?

yes, will have a car but no hotel as of yet because I don%26#39;t know which area to go to.
