Hotel/Beach

We are traveling from Nevada to seek a second opinion at MD Anderson in Houston. We have several days of medical appts lined up, but then will have the weekend free.

After months of chemotherapy and radiation, my husband would just like to spend a few days relaxing on the beach and listening to the ocean. We thought that we might be able to do that in Galveston? Or is there another coastal town that would be recommended?

He%26#39;d love to stay at a hotel where he could see the ocean, hear the ocean and walk to the ocean. Unfortunately, price is a consideration.

I%26#39;d love to hear others%26#39; input.

Hotel/Beach

Coming from Houston, Galveston is your best bet for a quick weekend coastal getaway. Any place else would be too far to drive. There are numerous hotels on the Seawall, but none are actually ON the beach. If you can find one that has an outdoor balcony that faces the beach, he%26#39;ll be able to hear the ocean. The first hotel that comes to mind for reasonable prices, right across the street from the beach, with a pool, balconies on gulf side is the Commodore. Don%26#39;t expect a five star here, but they also offer a complimentary continental breakfast, so that can help with cost. There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance also.

Hotel/Beach

You can see the water from the Hilton and you may can get a good price there.

sometimes you can do better with a condo than a hotel so you could check www.vrbo.com or sandnsea realty company.

I just booked a condo for around $159 a night. We have been to Galveston 10+ summers and never stayed in a hotel.
