I%26#39;m looking for a fun getaway for my husband, myself and my two kids, ages 5 %26amp; 7. We%26#39;d love a place that is within 2 hours from Fort Worth, that%26#39;s kid friendly, and has lots of fun, nature stuff to do (hiking, splashing in a stream, animals, etc.). I was thinking about Mill Creek Ranch Resort in Canton. Any suggestions for other places? Thanks!
Kid Friendly Getaway somewhat near Fort Worth?
maybe canoe the Brazos or get a cabin at Lake Whitney? Lake Travis is 3 hours away outside of Austin but it%26#39;s a really pretty lake with lots of options of entertainment around it.
There are cabins on the Paluxy down at Glen Rose which is very close to Granbury as well. There%26#39;s the dinosaur park in Glen Rose as well as the river (spring fed and pretty).
I had some friends who did a work event at Mill Creek and they weren%26#39;t that impressed with it.
Kid Friendly Getaway somewhat near Fort Worth?
Fossil Rim in Glen Rose is a really neat experience for kids that love animals. It%26#39;s a drive through animal park. Its just up the road from the Dinosaur Park, so if you are spending the night, may be able to do one each day. Our boys loved both places when they were small.
