Six Flags & OR Hurricane Harbour with 4 & 8 year old boys?

Is there enough for our age kids to do to make it worth the tickets? Boys are 40in and 48in...the website shows several but would we get bored? Also concerned about the reviews? We have been to Disney but I am not expecting Disney at six flags....

My children had a gap in age and what we found was the problem is there will be a lot the 8 year old can ride the 4 year old can%26#39;t at Six Flags. We used to solve it by letting each child take a friend and split for a lot of the day, one parent with each age group. Maybe not so easy since you will be traveling. With cell phones, we were easily able to get together to ride a few of the rides and for meals. You might consider checking if they%26#39;re doing the evening in the park thing again this year. Used to be you could sometimes get in from say 5 pm on at a reduced rate, think coke cans had to be brought with the discount on them, available at most convenience stores in the area if they are doing it again this year. We found Hurricane Harbor slightly more friendly to the age gap. Also there are smaller water parks around the dfw area so you might look for one of these, they can be cheaper but have less range. Usually very family friendly however and more manageable.

My son is 4 and this is the third year that we have purchased season passes for hurricane and six flags. We normally take my cousins childen with us and they range from 4-9 so there is a gap in age, we always find plenty of things for all to do. By then end of the day they have had a great time, and are very tired, so when I see this, I know that it was well worth the money we spend.

If I were you, I would take them to Great

Wolf Lodge instead. My kids are a little older, but they had a ball, and so did I. Hurricane Harbour, is so disgusting these days, the park and the people there. its way over priced, the people are making out in the lines,it is extremely dirty and the new electronic lockers, are a whole other story. we were at six flags a few months ago. It was not dirty gross, but my kids and I were very bored, and only stayed a few hours, and we don%26#39;t really go that much.

have fun whatever you do

We will be going Six Flags park on tuesday or wednesday next week. Do we need to buy ';fast passes'; or can we manage on normal tickets? Is there long queues on weekdays too?

the fast passes are not cheap. I think they were $15 per person, but they are worth it. the most I have ever stood in line with a fast pass was 5 or 10 min. you are looking at at least almost an hour on popular rides. it is just painful to stand there when its 100 degrees, for that long. if they were 50/person, they would be worth it.

sorry forgot to answer your question. yes, in the summer, it is busy all the time. very long waits on the most popular rides. parking is about 15$ also. it is susposed to be close to 100 degrees all week.

enjoy!!
