Johnson Space Center

I need advice on the extended tour of the Space Center. We are two adults who are quite keen.

Apart from the price, is it a good tour?

Has anyone done this recently?

We will be in the Houston area in July and our time is limited. Help is greatly appreciated.

Honestly, I haven%26#39;t been on it recently. If you still get to go behind the scenes and interact with the training equipment, then it is very much worth it. If you just get to see a few more buildings, then, meh...

Growing up in a NASA family (my father was a lead engineer in Mission Control in the 70s-80s), we saw a lot behind the scenes, and it wasn%26#39;t all that thrilling. The most interesting parts are the hands-on and luck-based interactions with astronauts. The basic (included) tours cover pretty much everything else.

Then again, I am very, very biased on the matter -- growing up in a family that saw the ins and outs every day, the ';talking'; points of the tour weren%26#39;t very educational to us. That may make all the difference in the world to some...

I have never been on the extended tour - but taken several out of town guest and some love it some say it was %26#39;okay%26#39;. If you are big into space stuff - I would say go for it.
