Best Restaurants and sites in Laredo

We will be visiting Laredo in March. Can you still go across the border or do you need a passport now? Also where are the best places to eat along with great cultural atmosphere in Laredo. What sites are a ';do not miss'; while in Laredo? I am from Texas but my partner has never been to Texas other than Dallas. I would really like to show them the true heart and soul of the culture in southern Texas which is so dear to my heart as well as missed so much. I also can%26#39;t wait to eat REAL mexican food!

TACO Palenque and TACO TOTE are two of the best mexican food restaurants here in Laredo. LOCALS KNOW! There will several events at the Laredo Entertainment Center in March. I believe Cirque de Solei will be here.

WOW!! Taco Palenque and Taco Tote are not real mexican food restaurants! You cant%26#39;t have mole, decent enchiladas, tostadas, mollestes, etc while eating there... You have a better chance at El Rancho

And Im a local, of course I know taco tote, taco palenque, etc but they are not mexican! Im mexican and I know about mexican food

Sure this response will not help the original post but it will help someone else!

I think Taco Tote and Taco Plaenque are great taco places. For more of a sit down meal with more choices, you need to try the other places mentioned. Be sure to try one of the many bakeries for Pan Dulce in the mornings along with a good coffee or Mexican Hot Chocolate. Also, you must have some mariachis (breakfast tacos) while you are here. Wander through the fun shops along San Bernardo with Mexican crafts. If you have the chance, go to Lake Casa Blanca for a nice relaxing evening (maybe take some tacos with you). A good although pricey place to sit outside with a margarita is Palenque Grill on Loop 20. Enjoy!
