Music before 5pm??

Wondering if any of the venues have live music performances before 5pm on Friday/Saturday. We normally go to Nashville every October (10 years!) but thought we%26#39;d try something new this year. The bars there start playing at 11 am.

Is there anything happening before 5pm?

thanks!

For the most part, the live music venues on 6th Street and Red River, the Austin Music Hall, La Zona Rosa, and Antone%26#39;s only have shows at night. However, there are lots of smaller bars and restaurants that have live music at other times.

The Continental Club on South Congress has a Saturday matinee show that starts at 3pm and there is usually no cover -- http://www.continentalclub.com/Austin.html

The Saxon Pub on South Lamar also has some shows that start as early as 6pm and a Saturday matinee that starts at 3pm -- http://www.thesaxonpub.com/

Stubbs BBQ hosts a gospel brunch with live music on Sundays starting at 11am -- http://stubbsaustin.com/rest_home.html

Threadgill%26#39;s also has a Sunday gospel brunch that starts at 10am, with music starting at 11am -- http://www.threadgills.com/

Apart from these, you%26#39;re likely to find music all over town, even if it%26#39;s just a guy playing a guitar in a coffee shop. The vibe is probably a little different from that in Nashville, but Austin is a great place to spend a long weekend.

Don%26#39;t forget Maria%26#39;s Taco Express for gospel brunch too.

Thanks for your responses, very helpful.
