Where to stay near 6th street

Where is a good place to stay that is accessible to 6th and that would be safe to walk back to late at night after partying?

Where to stay near 6th street

The beauty of staying in downtown Austin is it is small and quite walkable. Pretty much anywhere you stay north of Ladybird Lake and south of capitol is close to 6th and even the Emabassy Suites and Hyatt are not that far a trek. I%26#39;m not that crazy about the properties by I-35 because of noise and traffic. Your budget may dictate your choice but the Radisson, Hamilton and Residence/Courtyard are good mid-range properties with the Driskill, Four Seasons and Omni on one end of the spectrum and the Extended Stay on the other.

Here%26#39;s a map that may help with perspective

As noted above, there are lots of hotels that are within a very safe walking distance from 6th Street. Let us know what your budget is and we can make some recommendations.

I%26#39;m not sure about your budget, as MrTed said, but my wife and I stayed at the new Hilton downtown fairly recently and walked to 6th, walked to the theater on Congress, etc. Nice hotel and very convenient location
