Questions for Islandprincess15

My husband and I will be re-locating to your area in the next few weeks. Our first choice is to live and work on the island. Any suggestions for a couple...we are mid 40%26#39;s and both of us have lots of customer service type experience.Would love to give it a shot there before moving out toward Brownsville. Also...if you have any rental housing suggestions.

Thank you so much for any info!

Not islandprincess but to semi-answer your question...most of the customer service type jobs will involve the hospitality business...hotels, motels, restaurants, shops. Unless you have specific training and skills, many are minimum-pay jobs and the island is an expensive place for renting. Check out monster.com/rgv for job listings. A more reasonable place to find accommodations may be Port Isabel. Good luck with your search.

homesweetspi could not have given you a better answer. Unless you are in mgmt and working 978 hrs a week you probably won%26#39;t be raking in the bucks. It all depends- walks on the beach at sunrise, watching the sunset over the bay with your husband over dinner %26amp; drinks, moonlit walks on the beach with him could be priceless and U could have that all the time. Bville is big, your stuff will get stolen and the traffic is bad now. You could drive over there and buy what you need %26amp; come back to paradise. I live in Port Isabel %26amp; pay 1/3 of what it would cost on the island for a place 1/5 the size of what I have now. We live on the water and eat out (at great deals) alot. I have a Schlitterbahn season pass %26amp; go twice a day to go play in the crystal clear cool water. Pass was $120. Reg price is $40.00 each time U go. It can be done affordably %26amp; the time spent w/ur husband in paradise is well worth the drive to Bville in my opinion.
