American Idol tour 7/23

Hi, we%26#39;re looking to score four tickets to the American Idol show on July 23rd at American Airlines Center. It%26#39;s myself, my 16-year old son, and a friend with her 16-year old daughter. Any ideas on how to get better than ';nosebleed'; seats without paying huge premiums?

Also, hope to spend two nights in town, and am thinking it best to stay within walking distance of AAC. Is this a good idea? Since it%26#39;s 2 moms with a son and daughter, we%26#39;d need either two separate rooms or a suite with at least one room with doubles.

Any ideas or suggestions and also of places to eat and check out would be fun. We are driving from Houston, and are trying to not get too expensive .. definitely not over $200/night and hopefully less.

Thanks for any and all ideas!

On occasion I%26#39;ve found really good deals on seats through stubhub.com

Since you%26#39;re driving and on a budget, I would not stay at a downtown hotel unless you get a really great deal through a website. Anything around the airline center for a hot event is going to have higher than normal prices.

There is a Hyatt Summerfield Suites and a Marriott Springhill Suites in the area. The Summerfield Suites over by NorthPark Mall has been much more competitively priced on occasion. You should be able to rent a room that will meet your needs at one of these, but have no idea what the costs may be.

There%26#39;s also a Best Western at I-75 Fitzhugh area with the added benefit of the BuzzBrew on site.

There are lots of fun places to eat and things to do in the area. Lots of restaurants in the West End, Cindy%26#39;s Delicatessan on Houston, Iron Cactus on Main and if you don%26#39;t stay downtown lots and lots of places all over Dallas.
