Any botique or unique properties in San Antonio and environs

Going away for a Romantic weekend...are there any special properties out there that might differ from the riverwalk hotels?

Willing to drive anywhere in the area, just not back to Austin

Any botique or unique properties in San Antonio and environs

Any botique or unique properties in San Antonio and environs

Most folks looking for romantic book a Bed %26amp; Breakfast in the Hill Country - Fredricksberg, etc...

yeah we did that last year went to a B+B in Ingram...

I guess I was just looking for something a little hipper as we are a younger married couple happy to be rid of the kids for a weekend

Money no object? The Casitias at the Westin La Cantera.

Gruene might be nice, walk next door music, two doors down food.

A great romantic place would be Westin La Cantera www.westinlacantera.com

Hyatt Regency Hill Country www.hillcountry.hyatt.com %26amp; the Hilton SA/Hill Country Hotel

We%26#39;ve stayed here 3 times when we just wanted to get away for a night. Very romantic rooms, nice cozy bar on premise and easy walk to the restaurants on the Riverwalk.

How about a nice B%26amp;B in the King William District? The Oge House, Brackenridge House, or A Yellow Rose are all very nice, romantic properties at the north end of the district, while King William Manor and Beckmann House are closer to the south end.

At the north end you%26#39;re a short walk to Rosario%26#39;s for food and music, and not much farther to the Riverwalk area. At the south end, you can stroll to the Blue Star Brewery for food and music, the arts center next door, or over to Guenther House for great breakfasts %26amp; lunches.

At any of the B%26amp;B%26#39;s in the area you get to walk around a lovely, quiet, historic area. And busses run every few minutes along Alamo St. to take you into the Riverwalk area if you don%26#39;t wan%26#39;t to walk.

Great post Deubster. I agree that King William area is very romantic. Living here, I%26#39;ve never stayed in the Oge House, but walk by it each weekend, and love its looks. It seems as if it stepped right off the South Carolina coast. Unfortunately...I haven%26#39;t a clue what the rooms are like, but it is gorgeous from the outside. Rosario%26#39;s and Guenther House are two of my most favorite restaurants downtown as well. King William is a quiet oasis in the downtown hubbub. It%26#39;s a 20-25 minute walk on the river from there to the center of the Riverwalk area, shorter (but not as pleasant) if you walk street level, so a car isn%26#39;t even necessary.

The Riverwalk area can be romantic too, and of the hotels there, for romance I%26#39;d go with the Watermark. It is the only Mobil 4* (the most meaningful of the * rating programs) hotel in San Antonio.
