River Tours - is it a round trip ride?

I hope this isn%26#39;t a stupid question but does the River Tour bring you back to where you started or do they drop you off before they turn around? If it%26#39;s round trip can they stop along the way and drop you off before they arrive back at the starting dock point?

Thanks! Anna

Anna,

The actual tour boats take you back to where you started and they will not be able to let you off somewhere else. There are also river taxis which can take you anywhere on the river, but that would be a separate price. I am not too sure how it works on the new part of the river, though.

The new portion of the river is a $10 ticket which is good for 24 hours, so you could ride up and back without getting off, or you could ride up, get off and explore the most northern reaches, then catch another one to go back. It%26#39;s the river taxis that ply the new extension. (They look the same...the taxis have a flag on the back, about the only way you can differentiate them.)

Does the $10 ticket also give you access to taxi rides (not tour boats) on the older portion of the river? For example, could I get a ride from the Rivercenter Mall to County Line and then later ride from somewhere in that area to the new portion and then ride back? It sounds as if this is what could happen. I like to make the long walks on the river, but my husband has a bad hip, and he can%26#39;t walk far. This sounds like a good deal for us. Do the taxis run pretty often? And are they full enough that you have to wait in line a long time? Thanks for your help, OO.
