Hi. I posted in early June, planning to spend a day and night in Houston. Thanks for all the responses. Unforunately, this has now been cut down to a transit only visit. Arriving 9 am from Mexico, and leaving at 6pm to LA/Australia. Are there any day tours that will pick up from airport? Or %26#39;just go and see this, e.g. space center, downtown, or??'; Hiring a car not an option so need public transit or tour. Please save me from spending 7 hours at the airport. Thanks.

Another option would be to take a cab and visit the Woodlands for shopping, dining, movie theaters, bookstores, etc. I think on another post, someone thought the cab fare was around $40.

Even though downtown might not be the best option - that is what I would do as that is the easiest to get to with public transport. If you are willing to pay the extra money (like $4.00 compared to $80.00) then go to The Woodlands. If not get the bus (at terminal C) - go downtown walk the tunnels, go to the park etc. chill out and then take a bus back. Negative - the bus can take over an hour to get downtown while a car it will be 20 minutes. So I woouls keep 2 1/2 hours if by bus. Go to ridemetro for times and schedules.
Thank you for the advice. Are there any tour companies that pick up at the airport and would take you to the Space Center, or is it too far away?
It is not enough time to go to the space center.
