Hi,

Does anybody know a good place to stop for lunch travelling between Houston and Dallas in I-45? Preferably closer to Dallas than Houston?

There doesn%26#39;t seem to be a whole lot on Google Earth...

Thanks

We always like to stop in Corsicana at the Collins Street Bakery. It is famous for its fruitcake but their sandwiches are fresh and waitstaff is nice. Happy travels.

I drove to Houston and back a few weeks ago and we stopped at Gilberto%26#39;s in Fairfield which is about 85 miles from Dallas. They have pretty good Mexican food and a full Starbucks inside.

I second Collin Street Bakery in Corsicana. It%26#39;s right off the highway. Otherwise, I often stop in Fairfield as well. Fairfield is about halfway between Dallas and Houston.

At the excat halfway point between Dallas and Houston you%26#39;ll be in Centerville...stop at Woody%26#39;s Smokehouse (there%26#39;s one on each side of 45 so it%26#39;s your choice). Great store and casual eating (BBQ and such). I could spend a fortune on they pickles and beef jerky alnoe!

Halfway between Houston and Dallas is Sam%26#39;s in Fairfield right off of I45. Amazing home cooking buffet and the fried chicken is pretty darn good.
