If you%26#39;re coming in this next week, wear light clothing, and drink a lot of water when outside. For some reason, we got both heat %26amp; humidity this week (100 degree highs). Thankfully, there are some low clouds blocking the sun...
Walking between buildings just now (4:00pm), I wasn%26#39;t quite sweating, but I could sure see how someone from the north would find the afternoon heat stifling...
Augh! It's hot!
What happened!? Normally when it gets this hot here, at least it gets dry, too. Even yesterday it was steamy, and temps weren%26#39;t as high as today. DH said walking between buildings downtown to a meeting yesterday he felt as if he was a blast from a furnace.
Someone was writing here about coming into town Wed, I believe and she%26#39;d seen 100 predicted. At that time wunderground.com was saying typical 94, and I replied back about that. :( Now feel awful.
We moved here from FL and this is HOT even for us!
Augh! It's hot!
No doubt that hours between 2-5 pm can be pretty harsh, especially to you Yankees out there. I would recommend shaping your activities around those hours.
If you go out to Sea World or Six Flags, enjoy the rides before 2pm and then go see some shows in the A/C.
If you go downtown to see the sights, head to Rivercenter Mall to do some shopping when the heat gets you down.
Then, after 5 or 6pm, head out to see the fireworks, go back to see the Botannical Gardens at twilight, enjoy yourself! Those few hours will make ALL the difference.
Come on guys! Suck it up! Embrace the HEAT, Be the HEAT! :)
My lawn looks like a Bermuda lawn. The problem is, it%26#39;s San Augustine that is withering.
We need cooler days %26amp; rain!
im melting! im just glad out west we dont have much humidity...but dang....my electric bill is going to be high!
Headed to the river Friday and Saturday. Cooler of adult beverages, steaks for the grill, just sitting and floating, watching the dogs play. Life in South Texas is GREAT!
And, if you think about it, the mornings and evenings are heavenly. Just avoid 3-7!
Oh yes...really, so beautiful at 7:30 this morning when I did my walk, eyes held open with toothpicks!! :D
